SYSO Girls Lacrosse is looking for both board members and people interesting in serving on individual committees within our organization. We are looking for candidates for the following committees: technology, alumni game, uniforms, health and safety, scheduling, tournament and picnic. The following further describes the needs of our sport:
Board members - overseeing the workings of SYSO Girls Lacrosse. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: attending monthly meetings, updating and amending bi-laws, hiring coaches, approving purchases, deciding issues such as teams structure, scheduling, tournament involvement and scholarships and making all decisions affecting the success and running of our sport.
Technology committee - among other things: updating our web site, working with SYSO on appropriate apps for parent sports management and registration.
Alumni game - among other things, connecting with alumni and looking into the viability of hosting our first annual game, working with AD at SHS to facilitate field and time and SHS Varsity and JV coaches re: same.
Uniforms - among other things, working with registration to make sure all players (new and returning) are outfitted in appropriate uniform, sizing, ordering and distributing same.
Health and Safety - among other things, working with SYSO to assure that all of our coaches are AED/CPR certified and background checks are completed, including scheduling those certifications and keeping a database of that information, maintaining AEDs and examining the viability of future purchases of same.
Scheduling - among other things, working with our coaches and coaches from other towns to schedule games for our teams, working with SYSO to secure practice and game fields throughout the season and examining pre-season field access at indoor facilities.
Tournament - among other things, securing fields, referees, trainer, vendors, advertising our tournament and setting up game schedule.
Picnic - among other things, reserving the pavilion at Reis Park, contacting photographer for team photos, hiring DJ, working with caterer for food, drink, dessert.
